Reviews and Ratings
This hotel offers warm and cozy rooms in a building that seems recently converted, with friendly service and a perfect location for exploring the English countryside. However, the dining experience was very basic with limited choices. The facilities were well-maintained and had character.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. On one hand, the rooms were situated above the bar in the outbuilding, offering a unique ambiance built over a mill stream, and the Dinner Menu was excellent with a copious English Breakfast. However, the lack of phones in the rooms was a downside.
The inn exudes vintage charm and character with rooms that are clean and full of character, featuring White Company toiletries, friendly staff, and delicious food. The only initial downside was a slight sewerage smell, which was promptly resolved after a discussion. The service was excellent, with a warm and attentive demeanor, accompanied by a thoughtful hamper and a bottle of wine. The location, although tranquil in a tiny hamlet, offers easy access to attractions like Bath and Clifden, but can get busy in the evenings due to popularity with locals. The dining experience was superb, offering a continental breakfast with a variety of choices. Overall, a pleasant stay in the countryside with minor service challenges due to understaffing.
